Instagram has rolled out new analytics tools that give creators and marketers a deeper understanding of what content drives engagement and follower growth.
Key changes:
Follower growth is now shown per post. You can see which specific posts attracted new followers, allowing for better performance evaluation.
New demographic data is available at the individual post level. Age, gender, location, and interest categories are now broken down per post, not just across your profile as a whole.
Reels engagement insights now show where users hit the Like button while watching. This helps identify strong moments within a video, similar to YouTube retention analysis.
Carousel insights reveal which specific image a user was on when they liked the post, making it easier to understand what visuals resonate most.
Instagram is replacing the “Accounts Reached” metric with “Views” as the default measurement. This applies across photos, videos, carousels, Stories, and Reels. A view is counted after one second of screen time.
