How a Guy Landed His Dream Job for $6 using a Google Ad 🤣

Alec Brownstein wanted a job at a top advertising agency, but sending another résumé felt about as creative as printing “I am creative” in Comic Sans.

Then he had an idea.

He Googled the names of several famous creative directors and noticed something surprising: nobody was advertising against their names. So Alec bought Google AdWords for each one.

The ads said:

“Hey, Googling yourself is fun. Hiring me is fun too.”

Whenever a creative director searched for his own name during a completely normal and not-at-all-egotistical moment Alec’s ad appeared at the top.

The campaign cost just $6.

Four directors invited him for interviews. Two offered him jobs. Alec accepted his dream position and later won advertising awards for the stunt.
