What to Do When a Meta Ad Wins

What do you do when a Meta ad wins? And when it almost wins?

I watched a breakdown from a team that has managed over $500M in Meta spend.

Their system is simple. I put it in 1 image.

Sort every ad in your prospecting campaign

A winner takes 5% or more of campaign spend and hits your ROAS target.

Don’t just let it run. Build at least 3 versions: a new hook, a new headline, another product.

Only changing the background color works a lot less than it used to.

This keeps the winner alive longer.

Fix the near misses

Big spend, but 10 to 15% under target? Find where it leaks.

Weak click: ask for the click earlier.

Clicks but no sales: make the offer clear in the first seconds, and repeat it later in the ad.

Drop-off at the cart: talk to one customer with one problem. This one is hard. Often it’s not worth the time.

Scale on incremental ROAS

Their prospecting campaign runs on CBO. In Ads Manager, compare your normal ROAS with incremental ROAS. The incremental number shows what your next dollar will roughly bring in.

Just above target: +20 to 30% budget.

Well above target: +50 to 100%.

Judge on 7 to 14 days, never on one good day.
