What Google did to me in 2025 and what I refuse to let happen again in 2026 🚨

In 2025, Google quietly pulled the plug on my conversion tracking.

As of July 21, if you weren’t using Consent Mode v2, your EU traffic started running partially blind.

This is what hit me:

– Conversions stopped tracking properly
– Remarketing audiences stopped building
– No Consent Mode = declining Google Ads performance.

Fewer signals.

Less targeting.

Weaker optimization.

And yes this wasn’t theoretical.

It actively impacted live EU campaigns.

If you’re still not compliant, learn from my mistake.

Because if you ignore this now, this is what will hurt you in 2026:

Worse performance reports

Less algorithm learning

Higher costs for the same results
You won’t see the damage immediately.

You’ll see it when it’s already too late.

I fixed it with Cookiebot Web CMP by Usercentrics, and I’m not letting Google blindside me again.

Don’t let 2026 be the year you explain missing data to your client or boss.
