Google shared a wave of product updates in May, with major announcements during I/O and Google Marketing Live 2025.
Here are the highlights:
Search
A new search experience, called AI Mode, is rolling out in the U.S. It supports more complex queries, follow-ups, and even live interactions using your camera. A more advanced version called Deep Search is scheduled to arrive this summer.
Shopping
Search now includes a richer shopping experience. You can compare products, filter options based on your preferences, try on apparel virtually, and complete checkout faster with built-in support tools.
Mobile and Devices
Google previewed Android XR glasses, built to work seamlessly with your phone. NotebookLM, the research tool, is now available as a mobile app with offline audio support. Android and Wear OS are getting redesigns that improve usability and security.
Creative Tools
Gemini, Google’s productivity and creativity platform, added new features including Veo 3 — a tool to generate high-quality video content with sound and dialogue. Google also launched Flow, a new tool to help creators storyboard, build scenes, and manage assets.
Marketing and Ads
At Google Marketing Live, new tools were announced to help marketers produce content faster, reach customers across Google platforms, and improve campaign performance with automation.
Subscriptions
Google introduced a new plan, AI Ultra, offering the highest access limits and premium features. The existing AI Pro plan (formerly Premium) is expanding with new features and free access for students in select countries.
