Reddit referrals have surged 87 percent, while Wikipedia referrals have jumped 62 percent, now representing roughly 10 percent and 13 percent of ChatGPT citations. The top three sources—Wikipedia, Reddit and TechRadar—now account for 22 percent of all citations, up 53 percent in a single month.
The pattern is clear. Answer-first platforms are being prioritized, while branded content is being pushed out of the ecosystem.
