Google Tightens Security Rules for Google Ads Integrations

Google has updated its Developer Policies for Google Ads integrations to strengthen security. The biggest change is a move away from programmatic proxies: integrations should connect directly to Google Ads through a dedicated Google Cloud project.

Google says this should reduce risks such as unauthorized access, data-integrity issues, and performance bottlenecks. The Ads API Compliance team is reviewing existing integrations and will contact developers directly if changes are required.

Action for developers: review the revised policies, confirm your integration architecture complies, and be prepared to migrate away from proxy-based access if applicable.
