Ads DevCast

Google has launched Ads DevCast, a new bi-weekly vodcast and podcast aimed at the ads technical community, especially developers and technical builders working with advertising and measurement tools.
Hosted by Developer Relations Engineer Cory Liseno, the series focuses on deep technical updates, product insights, and expert discussions related to platforms such as Google Ads, Google Analytics, Display & Video 360, and Meridian. Unlike the Ads Decoded podcast (which targets marketing strategy audiences), Ads DevCast is designed specifically for developers and technical practitioners.
The first episode, “MCPs, Agents, and Ads. Oh My!”, explores the growing “agentic shift” in advertising — where AI agents are becoming primary users of APIs. Key highlights include:
Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers: Newly released open-source, self-hosted tools for Google Ads and Google Analytics APIs that allow natural-language data queries through agents (e.g., campaign performance or traffic insights).

Generative AI workflows: Combining MCP data retrieval with AI tools like Gemini to generate data-driven marketing plans.

Google Ads API Developer Assistant: A Gemini CLI extension that helps developers generate, debug, and test integration code faster, significantly reducing troubleshooting time.

Improved accessibility: AI tools are expanding the traditional developer audience into a broader “Ads Technical Community,” enabling marketing power users to run real-time data operations while freeing engineers to focus on strategic innovation.

The podcast is available on the Google Ads Developers YouTube channel and via YouTube Music.
