Google Ads will begin enforcing its updated Child Safety policy on January 11…

The existing Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) policy will be renamed “Child Safety” and become a standalone policy, separate from Inappropriate Content.

The update sets out two enforcement categories:

→ Egregious Child Safety ViolationsContent that promotes or facilitates child sexual abuse or exploitation leads to immediate account suspension without prior warning.

→ Other Child Safety Violations

This covers content vulnerable to misuse for sexual exploitation, even when it is not inherently illegal or harmful. These violations trigger a warning at least 7 days before any account suspension.

Google also explicitly states that its protections cover all content formats, including AI-generated, fictional, animated and edited media.

For advertisers: review your ads against the updated policy and remove anything that violates it before January 11, 2027.
