Dennis Moons🧪 found this new warning in Merchant Center called Inappropriate title. It looks like this warning is specific for Discovery & Dem.
Emmanuel Flossie saw this also before and he think that this is a bug.
Updates SDK APIs
Google has made Updates to the User Messaging Platform SDK APIs:
– a new API, loadAndPresentIfRequired()
– added a new boolean property canRequestAds
– new API privacyOptionsRequirementStatus

Changes Google Ads API
Google has made changes to the MerchanLinkService in the Google Ads API.
Exclude URLs Pmax
Thomas Eccel found out that you can now choose which URLs you want to exclude from your Pmax campaigns.
Keep in mind that you can only exclude URLs if you opt-in for text assets.
QR code call extension
Hana Kobzová found out that Google Ads can show a QR code in the call extension. I have never seen this before.
New Ads features
Google has announced some new Google Ads features for the Holiday Season:
– updating the product page with more details
– faster onboarding time for local inventory ads and Google introduced a new local store unit ad format
– online-only bidding vs. Smart Bidding for store visits and store sales A/B test( for standard shopping)
– a new interactive ad format that shows business information for customers who have shown local shopping intent
– you can now optimize for value New Customer Acquisition with High Value. If you want to join this beta ask access from your account manager
– enabled ‘Pickup Later’ annotations for all merchants
– new Performance Tab in Merchant Center
– you can use one-click experiments to set up an A/B test between Standard Shopping campaigns and Performance Max campaigns
– the deals and shipping annotations on your Shopping ads and free listings will get more visibility and personalized than before
– Product Studio will be available within Merchant Center Next and on the Google & YouTube App on Shopify
– Performance Max will start using images from your product feed to unlock additional inventory and formats, including YouTube Shorts
– you can provide 3D image assets to be displayed in Search through your free listings

Holiday season Ads checklist
Google Ads has released a new checklist for the holiday season. For more information check the list.
Feed-only
Mike Ryan shared this important sentence today from Google’s latest news item.
In this sentence, Google is telling advertisers that they will use images from your product feed.
This means that if you use feed-only campaigns these campaigns can now also show on YouTube Shorts or “unlock additional inventory and formats”

Page Feeds in PMax
Thomas Eccel found out that page feeds are now showing up in his existing PMax campaigns under settings.
Page feeds only work when you switch Final URL expansion off.
Removing implicit Target ROAS
Kirk Williams shared that Google is removing the implicit Target ROAS on Maximize Conversion Value for PMax.
New Content & Exclusion Tab

You can now view and manage all your content and exclusions in this place.
Update custom audience
Starting September 27, 2023, you will no longer be able to update a custom audience when you create a custom audience.

Ads API 14.1
Google has released Ads API 14.1. You find the changes below.
Google Added new recommendation types:
-PerformanceMaxOptInRecommendation
-ImprovePerformanceMaxAdStrengthRecommendation
-MigrateDynamicSearchAdsCampaignToPerformanceMaxRecommendation
Insights are available as two new views: customer_search_term_insight and campaign_search_term_insight.
Google also released new segments and metrics that support grouping the data into search categories and subcategories. You can now use:
Customer.customer_agreement_setting to check if a customer has accepted the lead form term of service.
Added primary_status and primary_status_reasons to AssetGroup and AssetGroupAsset to provide insight into why an asset group or an asset group asset is not serving. For AssetGroupAsset, primary_status_details is also available.
Added new fields to Invoice and AccountSummary which return information on export charges.
Added DiscoveryCampaignSettings that contain upgraded_targeting. When you set this field to true, you can add a location and a language as an ad group criterion to that campaign(Allowlisted accounts only).
Added support for Discovery video responsive ad (Allowlisted accounts only):
New ad type: AdType.DISCOVERY_VIDEO_RESPONSIVE_AD

Update photo guidelines Local Service Ads
Anthony Higman received this mail that told him that Google is using a new automated process to speed up photo reviews. These photos can appear on your ads faster because of this change.

Joe May found some updated set of fields in the Custom notifications in Google Ads.
Political content policy
From September 2023, Google will update its Political content policy to include a Chile Election Ads policy!
Updates to Healthcare and Medicines policy
In October Google will update the Healthcare and Medicines policy:
– the language of the prescription drug sale policy will be updated
– the policy name will change to prescription drug service
– France country-specifics of the Healthcare and medicines policy will be updated to allow LegitScript-certified telemedicine providers to promote their services in France.
