Starting May 1, 2025, consent unbundling will be rolled out for OAuth authentication in Google Cloud projects created before 2019.
Users will be able to grant permissions for specific OAuth scopes instead of accepting all at once. This applies if your application:
– Uses an Ads-related API via a Google Cloud project created before 2019- Implements OAuth 2.0 user authentication
– Uses multiple Google APIsWho is not affected?
– Existing refresh tokens remain valid
– Applications using only one OAuth scope
– Manually authenticated or service account-based applications
What to do
– Ensure your application can handle partial user consent
– Use include_granted_scopes in your OAuth flow
– Check consented scopes in the OAuth responseImplement incremental authorizationHow to test- Create a new Google Cloud project (unbundling is enabled by default)
– Set enable_granular_consent to true in your existing project
