In Q1 2024, Dutch consumers spent over €9 billion online, marking a 3% growth from Q1 2023, despite a 3% decline in the number of purchases, which totaled over 85 million. Purchases from foreign webshops have increased, with one in three online shoppers now buying cross-border compared to one in four in 2022. Notably, online spending in China saw a significant rise, from €58 million in Q1 2023 to €102 million in Q1 2024, driven by increased spending on Clothing, Home & Living, and Shoes and Personal Lifestyle products
