Campaign status shows whether your campaign is currently able to run ads or not. You can find this in the Status column on the Campaigns page in Google Ads. The status applies to the entire campaign, which means all ad groups and ads inside that campaign are affected.
Common campaign statuses include:
- Eligible – The campaign is active and ads can show normally.
- Eligible (limited) – The campaign is active, but performance may be limited, often because of budget restrictions.
- Not eligible – The campaign can’t run because there are no active ad groups, ads, or keywords.
- Paused – The campaign has been paused manually, so ads are not showing. You can restart it at any time.
- Removed – The campaign has been permanently deleted and can no longer run.
- Ended – The campaign has passed its end date, so ads have stopped running.
- Pending – The campaign has a start date in the future and hasn’t started yet.
- Limited by budget – Ads are running, but not as often as possible because the daily budget is too low.
Monitoring campaign status helps you quickly see whether your campaigns are running correctly or if something is limiting performance.
