Placement targeting is a targeting method in Google Ads that allows you to choose exactly where your ads appear. Instead of relying only on automatic targeting, you can manually select specific websites, YouTube videos, YouTube channels, apps, or app categories within the Display Network and YouTube.
This gives advertisers more control over the context in which ads are shown and can be useful when you know which websites or channels are highly relevant to your audience.
Placements can be added or managed in the Content section of a campaign or ad group. Placement targeting can also be combined with other targeting methods, which allows your ads to appear on any of the selected targeting options and potentially reach a broader audience.
Another advantage of placement targeting is that you can set bid adjustments for specific placements. If certain websites or videos perform particularly well, you can increase bids for those placements to become more competitive and capture more traffic.
