Matteo Zambon wrote again an amazing post about a bug related to GTM Server-Side and enhanced conversion in Google Ads settings, a small summary:
– If your configuration is at the account level, there are no issues (OLD configuration).
– If the configuration is only at the conversion level, GTM Server-Side tag doesn’t manage user_data parameters (NEW configuration).
To check if user_data for enhanced conversion is sent, look for the “em=tv.1~em” parameter.
If using only detail conversion settings in Google Ads, the solution for now is to use GTM Client Side Tag for GAds Conversion.
Finally, users are encouraged to report the issue to Google via the Help menu in Google Ads.
