Google’s search results changes

Brodie Clark discovered that Google has made significant changes to their search results, particularly in the UK and Europe.

They’ve introduced default ‘Products’ and ‘Product Sites’ tabs featuring distinct results.

The Products tab shows organic merchant listings from various qualifying sites, while the Product Sites tab displays a narrower selection of web pages with product carousels in some cases.

It’s speculated that Google may be using new structured data like ItemList for this feature, although evidence is inconclusive.

While these features aren’t entirely new, this is the first they’ve been made default for users in the UK and Europe.
