Google is introducing Gemini features

Maximilian vom Eyser just posted that Google is introducing Gemini features, previously known as Duet AI, to Gmail, Docs, and other Workspace apps for personal accounts as part of the new Google One AI Premium plan.

This integration aims to enhance productivity by allowing users to perform tasks seamlessly within the apps without switching between them.

Gemini features include “Help me write,” which assists in composing emails and documents by generating text based on prompts and offering refinements such as formalizing, elaborating, shortening, or summarizing content.

Additionally, there’s a Proofread feature in Google Docs, providing spelling and grammar suggestions along with recommendations for conciseness, clarity, dynamic wording, and sentence structure improvement.

In Google Slides, users can create images, while Google Sheets offers “Help me organize” for custom tables and templates, along with Enhanced Smart Fill for automated data organization and analysis tasks.

Google Meet includes features like generating backgrounds and Studio enhancements for lighting, appearance, and sound quality. Examples of tasks supported by Gemini include drafting invitations, itineraries, budgets, or creative projects.

Gemini in Workspace apps is accessible with the Google One AI Premium plan, priced at $19.99 per month, which also includes 2 TB of storage, Gemini Advanced features, and other benefits in Photos and Calendar. A two-month free trial is currently available.
