Discovery upgrade to Demand Gen

Tiago Goncalves found out that one of his client’s Discovery campaigns was upgraded to Demand Gen! Keep in mind that this was for a client that had asked for an upgrade. So for those accounts, you will see faster upgrades(October > January). For other accounts, you will see upgrades from January till March!

GA4 updates

Google has officially released calculated metrics and they made a follow-up on their announcement that First Click, Linear, Time decay, and position-based attribution models are going away mid-October.

V15 Google Ads API

Google has announced V15 of the Google Ads API. For all the changes check this announcement.

New Google Ads certificates

Sophie Logan found out that Google is introducing new Google Ads certificates! This is for selected partners.

Updates Google Analytics 360

– In the next few weeks, Google will give users the ability to assign customized reporting experiences to different roles and teams in the organization

– add the ability to link subproperties and roll-up properties to Display & Video 360, Campaign Manager 360 and Search Ads 360

– later this year, Google will introduce a faster and more complete export type to BigQuery, our cloud data warehouse

– launch of a service legal agreement (SLA) that makes your insights available for export at the same time each day

– introduce a new way to programmatically upgrade users Google Analytics 4 properties to Analytics 360 via the API

All these new features are only available if you’re using Google Analytics 4!

UA 360 features that will go away

Charles Farina shared that from January users of Universal Analytics 360 cannot use Lifetime Value Report and Model Explorer anymore! Starting from March users from UA 360 cannot export conversions and audiences anymore. If you use these features.

Update GA4 Admin space 

Christiaan Dollen found out that GA4 is busy with updating the Admin space in GA4.

Adsense Auto Ads

Adsense has released Auto Ads. With Auto Ads, you can feature display search terms related to the content of the pages.

Tag Manager update

You can now route traffic from your GTM server container to a proxy server.

Blocked by Google

Mike Rhodes and other users found out that some scripts are being blocked by Google. Google knows about this problem and is trying to fix it.

API Data Quality

Frederik Boysen just found this beta in one account named API Data Quality!API data quality is a diagnostics tool that shows users potential errors when sending data to the API.

Upcoming changes to support DMA

Google has announced upcoming changes to support the Digital Markets Act (DMA) and is swiftly updating the Google Ads API and the Display & Video 360 API.

These changes are being made to allow developers time to update their applications before DMA enforcement begins on March 6, 2024.

The update includes the introduction of the Consent object in Google Ads API v15, which is used for various data uploads, including call conversions, click conversions, Customer Match, and Store Sales.

Developers need to set the Consent for each feature accordingly. Additionally, it’s advised to review the EU user consent policy to ensure compliance with consent requirements for users in the European Economic Area(source).

Looker Studio updates

The first update introduces enhanced drill actions for table charts in Looker Studio. Report creators can now:

– Add multiple dimensions: Allows users to Drill Up, Drill Down, or switch between dimensions for varied insights in table charts.

– Set up Drill Through links: Links to external URLs for quick access to additional context about the presented data.

For viewers, the new table chart drill actions tooltip enables:

– Intuitive navigation: Intuitive Drill Up, Drill Down, or dimension swapping for deeper insights.

– Access to external sites: Links to external sites providing extra context about the table chart data.
