Expanding Video Publisher Policy

Google is expanding its Video publisher policy to include AdMob in addition to AdSense and Ad Manager, effective April 1, 2024.

The update requires accurate declarations for video inventory, specifying ad audibility, type, and placement details.

Supported implementations like Google Interactive Media Ads SDK or Google Programmatic Access Library are mandated for in-stream or Accompanying Content placements.

Advertiser value protection includes guidelines against obstructing, hiding, or rendering non-functional video content or controls.

Autoplay for Video Inventory is allowed under certain conditions, such as only one autoplaying video at a time, and a minimum 50% visibility requirement.

Sticky Video Inventory is permitted with a mandatory dismiss option, and the video player transition should align with user scrolling.

Ad Manager users must note that ‘instream’ or ‘in-stream’ refers to both ‘In-stream’ and ‘Accompanying Content’ placements.

The updated policies become effective on April 1, 2024, with options for review or appeal for disapproved Video Inventory.

Is this new policy going live after all the complaints and accusations from the true-view scam?
