Introduction Structured Data Support Product Variants

Google has introduced structured data support for Product variants, following previous expansions for Product structured data in 2022 and shipping/returns structured data in 2023.

This enhancement allows merchants to display various product variations more effectively in Google Search results, enhancing the shopping experience for users.

The new support includes the Schema.org ProductGroup type and three new properties: hasVariant, variesBy, and productGroupID.

Merchants can now group variants under a parent product and provide identifying properties for each variant.

Comprehensive documentation and validations have been provided for both single-page and multi-page variant websites.

Additionally, Search Console offers validations for product variants, aiding merchants in monitoring and verifying their structured data.
